What are IMAP, POP, and SMTP?

When setting up an email account in applications like Apollo, Outlook, or Apple Mail, you often encounter abbreviations such as IMAP, POP, and SMTP. These may seem like technical jargon, but they are essentially the “rules of communication” between your email client and the email server.
